Nail and screw pops happen when framing lumber shrinks, settles or flexes and pushes a fastener (or the mud over it) out from the drywall face. They show up as small raised bumps, cracked circles or flaking spots, usually in rows along a stud or joist.
Covering a pop with more mud doesnβt last. We drive a new screw beside each popped fastener to pull the board tight, set or remove the old one, then fill, sand and texture each spot so it disappears when painted. One visit can take care of a whole house worth of pops.
The Patch Guyz are drywall repair specialists. We patch and restore existing walls and ceilings. We donβt do new-construction drywall or whole-room remodels.

We blend the surface or match your existing texture and leave a clean, primed, paint-ready patch. Touch-up paint of the repaired area is available.
A pop is a fastener thatβs lost its grip. Re-securing the board is what stops it coming back, and our finishing makes each spot invisible.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are nail pops a structural problem?
Almost never. Theyβre a normal result of wood framing moving. Theyβre cosmetic, but they keep getting worse until theyβre re-secured.
Why do my nail pops keep coming back?
Because the fastener was only covered, not fixed. We add a new screw to pull the drywall tight to the framing before refinishing.
Can you do every pop in the house in one visit?
Yes. Pops are a great fit for a single visit. We work room by room and leave each spot primed and paint-ready.
Do you match ceiling texture over pops?
Yes. We match smooth, knockdown, orange peel and other common textures so the repairs blend in.
